Today’s #HAWMC prompt is to post a vintage picture of yourself and discuss where you were at the time in your treatment.  Here goes:

This is me at my lightest weight ever in my adult life: 171 pounds.  This is about a year after my last pregnancy during the time in which my diabetes was spiraling out of control.  When this picture was taken I had just begun taking both basal and bolus insulin.  Within a few months I would return to a higher weight, but my blood sugars would finally be stable.

(That’s my daughter in the background.  She would have been about nine then.  Such a lovely age….boy do I miss those days!  But there is something to be said about living with an opinionated, funny, One Direction obsessed fourteen year old….)
